Join us monthly for our free Community Supper! Meals are served every fourth Tuesday of the month at 5:30 pm. The meal includes main and side dishes, coffee and tea, and dessert.
We were inspired to create a new kitchen that could support a community meal! Renovations were led by church members who specialize in plumbing and construction, and donations from all members helped to finance the work.
Come and enjoy our family style meals with friends and neighbors. We are grateful to the local organizations that help to prepare or provide for meals, including the Rotary Club and the Gardner Ale House.
The time and effort to prep delicious food pays off each month in a yummy meal! Our volunteers are experienced cooks who work hard to make each meal special. Come and enjoy the delicious results!
The members of UUSG have long provided food for Gardner’s needy by donating nonperishables at our worship service each Sunday. In 2013, UUSG decided to go further by renovating our kitchen so that we could serve free meals to the needy of the Greater Gardner Community. The renovation was completed, mostly by members of the church, in the fall of 2014, and the first “Welcome Table” community meal was served on October 28, 2014.
Since the beginning, the Gardner Rotary Club has been a tremendous help by sponsoring meals, providing financial support, and by Rotarians who volunteer at the meals. Many Gardner restaurants have also supported the Welcome Table, including the Gardner Ale House which donates salad and bread for every meal.
The supper is free. Donations are gratefully accepted to support the Welcome Table.
