Want some great ideas for a green life?

By Sue Blain.
Green America is a great source of information about things we can do in our everyday lives for a cleaner environment.  A couple of examples from their archives include 21 Things You Didn’t Know You Could Recycle and 13 Toxic Chemicals Lurking in Your Home.

The recycling article includes links for where you can recycle various items.  The toxic chemicals article identifies products likely to contain specific toxins. You can find a lot more on the website: https://www.greenamerica.org.

Several environmental organizations are listed on the Social Action Committee blog’s Take Action page, with links to their websites.  There are many ways to take action, including petition and letter-writing campaigns, using our “dollar vote” to purchase truly green products and to avoid companies engaged in deforestation and forced labor, reducing consumerism, reusing or repurposing items as a priority over recycling the items, purchasing products with as little plastic packaging as possible, and avoiding single use plastics.  I am sure you can think of more.  Email your suggestions to me using the UUSG contact form by May 17, and I will include them in a list/blog for the Social Action Committee website.
